Some Bluebirds

I walked around today taking pictures of many of the Bluebirds here. The white board with announcements this morning said that there was a total of 115 (though I am not sure whether that is Bluebirds or just coaches in the gathering - some are not Bluebirds). Some of the Bluebirds have already left... so it also may be a cumulative total of all that have been here at any point during the two weeks.

A '99 LXI - very like Miss Doosie (which is the one just to the right behind)

Pretty Penny - I got to visit the inside of this one during open coach day - she is quite pretty both inside and out!

Tim and Donna's coach - it is a 41' foot long. It is a '99 and looks a lot like Miss Doozie.

An M450

"Alligator", Joe and Pat's 1993 PT (Pusher Tag) 40'

Ray and Leslie's 1992 PT 42

I think this is Rick and Rosie's 1997 PT42

Some of the other birds on the "outer circle" with us

The coach on the left is a 1983 - one of the vintage looking busses. It is for sale - just under $20,000. Anyone interested???

This is the coach that David Brady used to own. Everyone talks about how wonderfully it was kept. We have met the current owner - he is also really nice (as David is also!).

Dan, the owner of this coach, helped us today with knowing what we need to get to make our outside grill operational.

Bluebird Olympics

Today was the "first annual Bluebird Olympics at Quartzsite". A few of the folks here had done some great planning, many volunteered to participate as athletes or judges, and the rest of us were cheering all in their endeavors! The Olympic swimming pool had not been completed, so there were various events designed to test the abilities of the contestants to plan their strategies to accomplish the assigned tasks. We all had a great time... the final results will be communicated at the dinner on Saturday night.

4 teams - yellow, blue, red, and green

Dump/fill day

We decided to dump our tanks and fill our fresh water tank today - we probably could have made it for a few more days, but we decided we'd rather not have to conserve. We had gone by the dump station at various times of the day and there was usually a line. We had the goal to get there "early" - it was about 9am by the time we got there, and there were about a dozen rigs in front of us.
We had about an hour wait in line, but we got to chat with folks in the rigs in front and behind us...
Tonight was "Mexican" night; we enjoyed Mexican food made from all the folks in the Bluebird group and then enjoyed another beautiful sunset!

The weather is in the 70s during the day; it gets down to the 40s at night. It cools off quickly when the sun goes down - in these pictures you can see the bonfire in the midst of the circle of Bluebirds.

Visiting the Big Tent and Prime rib in the desert

Last night, Tuesday, Ray and Leslie carried on what is evidently a Quartzsite Bluebird tradition by making prime rib for those who signed up for it. Everyone else brought various side dishes. It was delicious!
During the day on Tuesday, we visited the Big Tent. This picture is of the area just outside the tent, where there are additional vendors set up.

The chef, Ray

God treated us to another amazing sunset!

Another Master-piece!

Wow!

Beautiful!

Awesome!

Wonderful!

Spectacular!

Outstanding!

As we were leaving to drive to Blythe to visit a grocery store today, Miss Kitty was enjoying the sunshine in the front window.

Another beautiful sunset Wednesday evening!

Back to sunsets...

The sunset this evening was again magnificent...
Panorama taken with phone
Taken with Canon Powershot D-10 in Sunset mode (so the colors are more like what I see with my eyes)
The bookmark that I made today with materials provided by Sharon. It is about 6"x2.5" made out of felt. It seems so long since I made something with my hands - it was fun to do and so nice for Sharon to provide the materials!!!

Pictures of something OTHER than sunsets!

I realized that I have been taking a lot of pictures of sunsets (the sky is so beautiful here!). I didn't get up in time to take a picture of the sunrise this morning (though I've seen the pictures that other people took and it was evidently gorgeous), but I did get some other pictures today!
An interesting "toad" (it travels in a trailer behind the bus

An interesting rock we saw on the ladies walk this morning

Two of the ladies posed by a saguaro (Carol, our "front door" neighbor, is on the right)

After our ladies' walk, we made felt bookmarks. Sharon very kindly provided the supplies!!!

From breakfast to supper at the Birds' Nest

We started with breakfast (and "Group Therapy") this morning with the Bluebird folks and ended with Soup/Stew/Stoup supper. We got to visit with our front side neighbor Carol (she and Charlie are from Austin area) and the folks in front of them (Joe and Kay) who are from Van Alstyne. Our back side neighbors are Dick and Carol from Washington state.

It has been a beautiful day in the desert - up to high 60s and a nice breeze.
