A visit to Arizona Sonora Desert Museum

We took advantage of our year's membership and made another visit to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Niece Ginny is volunteering there as a helper with "crowd control" at the Raptor Free Flight, as well as a map assistant to help folks who might be a little lost.

A barn owl

Harris hawks (I think!)

I think this is also a Harris hawk

Bobcat doing what cats do (sleeping)

Metal sculptures in the new "Vulture Culture" exhibit

Mountain lion - he had been sleeping up on the rock just behind him, did a huge stretch, and was walking to a new sleeping spot - again, doing what cats do!

I had been looking at the saguaro around Tucson looking for this "crested" kind of growth that we had seen in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument last year... and found this one right at the entrance to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum!
