The Pima Air and Space Museum has 80 acres of aircraft outside. Even though the weather was mild, it was a lot more pleasant to view them from the tram tour than by walking.

These were just the planes in close proximity to the two hangers I had visited the day before... |
Lockheed C-69 Constellation painted as TWA passenger plane. They donated not just the airplane but also the baggage carts - our docent quipped, "There's still a couple of pieces of luggage on there in case you're missing any!" |
This plane was outfitted with skies for landing on snow or ice. |
Our docent said that this airplane had been voted as "ugliest" by the docent crew. It had two propellers that rotated in opposite directions. |
This is another plane that had two propellers per engine (4 engines in this case). |
After the tram tour, we visited the 390th Memorial Museum (a museum within the Pima Air and Space Museum grounds). Its centerpiece was a restored B-17G. The exhibit across the back wall was nose art from many of the B-17s. |
We thoroughly enjoyed the Pima Air and Space Museum and highly recommend it!
