Theodore Roosevelt National Park, South Unit

We visited the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, South Unit, today. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the geologic formations and the wildlife in the park!

Bison....

Prairie dogs (I know that they are something between ground hogs and rats... but... they are cute...):

Horses (at quite a distance):

Geology:

(well, geology and plants...)

There were many places where a rock remains that is of more solid material than that which has been carved out under it...

Dwayne sitting on the "table" rock...

The top of the rock had quite an interesting design - almost like waves!
When we got back to the campground, Dwayne took some pictures of the little "town buildings" that are part of the "Guest Ranch" -
The "saloon"

There is a biker rally coming in here this weekend... there are already a number of motorcyclists on the property.

Rest your horse...
Rest your head...
The next day....
We'll make your bed!
