Or, at least, in the part where we are! Medford and Grants Pass have both been issuing weather alerts for Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings.
The hottest weather of the year thus far will impact inland areas through at least Tuesday. Temperatures Friday were a few degrees cooler than Thursday due to cloud cover, but very hot conditions will return Saturday through at least Tuesday. Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, and relief at night will be limited as lows in some areas will stay in the middle 60s to lower 70s.
Maximum temperature in warning area: 101 to 107 degrees.
Maximum temperature in advisory area: 95 to 102 degrees.
The area we are in is covered by both the warning and advisory, but the cities listed as in the warning area are Medford, Rogue River, and Grants Pass. We stopped and did some shopping in Medford on Friday, we're staying in Rogue River for the weekend, and we'll be going to Grants Pass on Monday to visit Henderson's Line-Up. We're thankful to have good working air conditioners on Miss Doozie!

Sunset Thursday evening at our boondocking spot near Mt Shasta. It was wonderfully cool overnight there! |

Our campsite in Valley of the Rogue State Park - for Friday night. We will need to move to a different site for Saturday night. We had thought that we would stay outside Henderson's facility on Sunday evening, but with the heat, we're thinking we might stay on another night at this campground to have 50A hookups for A/C use! |
