Yesterday, we went to the Antelope Valley Swap Meet - the signs and information indicated it was open on Saturday and Sunday, but there aren't many booths open on Saturday. We walked around a little, and a lady there gave us a two-for-one admission to use on Sunday. So... we went back today!
There is a little of everything at this Swap Meet - I took pictures to try to give you a sense of what is there, you can buy....
Appliances (this vendor had washers, dryers, refrigerators) - when we walked by later, a couple was evidently talking to him about making a purchase, and it sounded like he would give them a price with a warranty or without... |
Bicycles and assorted power hand tools |
Sunglasses of assorted brands, and clothing just beyond |
Hand tools - Dwayne got a set of 10" fencing pliers that reminded him of a set they had at the chemical company when he worked there. |
Assorted cleaning supplies |
Places to eat |
New furniture (there was also used furniture) |
Assorted stuff |
You could get keys made... |
Matchbook cars |
This shop reminded me of the tourist shops you would see in Cancun or other Mexican tourist towns. |
There was an entertainment stage, though no one was playing. |
More important "stuff" |
Saddles and other horse equipment |
Fountains and other yard art |
Tires and wheels |
Lots and lots of power hand tools in their cases |
Lots and lots and lots of assorted hand tools - but none of the type of wrench that we were looking for for Jimmy |
Then back in Acton....
After we left the Swap Meet, we stopped to mail a letter at the local
Acton Post Office - I took a picture of the sign in front of the Post
Office.... I don't know whether they have problems with people wanting
to tie their horses there. This area has a lot of places that look like
horse farms, so maybe it is a concern! |
