We had breakfast brunch potluck with the folks around the Birds' Nest Sunday morning...

We heard that there might be a shutdown of the dump and water stations here soon due to the government shutdown (we are camping on Federal land - Bureau of Land Management). When we arrived on Friday, the water tank for the Long Term Visitor's Area ran out just as we were about to fill, so although we had dumped, we only had 1/4 tank of fresh water remaining from boondocking last week. So, we decided to head down to the water area to fill up with water in case the rumors we had heard were true. |
The dumpsters have evidently not been dumped for a few days... |
One of our Bluebird friends were also coming to dump (they left their solar panels up for the short trip) to the water fill. Their bus is named "Amazing Grace" and they say that they travel in "God's Amazing Grace" - neat huh? |
When we got back to the Birds' Nest, I was up on the roof doing the top fastening for putting our flag pole up and took the opportunity to take some pictures. The bus in the foreground here is also a 2000 but it has a single slide on the other side. The couple in it is from Canada and they are newlyweds (both widowed/widowered, I think). It is a very pretty bus! |
Across the circle... there are more Bluebirds beyond the ones that are on the circle. |
And on around to the right - the RV right next to us is a Holiday Rambler, but its owners previously owned a Blue Bird. They are from Van Alstyne, TX. |
Some more in the line behind the circle. |
We had a Soup/Stew/Stoup dinner which was great because it was COLD on Sunday (well, in the 50s by dinner time) - the sunset was still beautiful! (That's the flag on top of Miss Doozie that you can see in front of the sunset!). |
A later view of the sunset as we were preparing to head down to an RV park a bit south of us for a concert. |
A friend that we met last week (Will) told us about this Michael Cullipher concert... |
He does a few different shows, but this one was a gospel one. (He also does an Elvis show - in this one, the first half were Elvis gospel songs.) |
His father was in a gospel band when Michael was small, and his dad came up to play with him during the second half of the concert that was all gospel (dad is to the right). |
Busy day, but most enjoyable!
