We have found that we depend upon lists to keep us on task. I have to say that I come by it naturally - my mom was a great list maker! She used to tell a story that when my brother was just a little boy, she came across a list that he had made for himself, something like:
1. Wake up
2. Get up
3. Get dressed
She said that she realized that she had instilled this into him by her list making!
We have made lists for a while, but only in the past few months have we found a tool that we really like for making and sharing lists, Google Keep.
|
This is a screen snip from the Google Keep on my laptop. We also have it on both of our phones. This is part of our list of to-do's to get done while we're in Yuma this month. |
|
The bottom part of the list... and two items already checked off - HURRAH! |
We use this for our shopping lists for various stores - we have a "Walmart" and a "Sam's/Costco" and a "Home Depot/Lowe's/hardware store" list - when we think of something, we immediately put it on the list and then when we go to the store, each of us has the list on our phones. We can split up and shop and see when the other person checks items off. The items that are checked off stay at the bottom of the particular list, so for many items, when we need to add something back on, we can just uncheck it from the previously completed items. I like to re-arrange items on the grocery list to put "like" items together - I can drag items up or down the list.
Just thought I would share one of the tools that we have found useful with y'all today! And you can be rooting for us to get all of our Yuma list completed!!!
