We had just stopped at the post office and pulled back out on the "main drag" in Quartzsite when Dwayne noticed a big load holding up traffic at the stoplight behind us. It was having a hard time making the left onto Main. We then realized that we were between the warning vehicle (which was in front of us) and the oversized load that was behind us. A police car came up and encouraged us to get in front of the warning vehicle. We were glad we did...
When the oversized vehicle got to the next intersection, they turned left (as we did) - they were going to get onto I-10.The police vehicle stopped traffic coming across the interstate and let the vehicle have both lanes to make a wide turn... but he was still a bit too wide to make it... - at least to make it easily. After about 5-7 minutes of having all the traffic stopped there, he made it down the ramp and west on I-10.
