We have been hearing about "Quartzsite" since before we got our rig. I think Glenn told us about it when he was showing us his rig in San Saba. So, what is Quartzsite.
First, Quartzsite is a small town on I-10 in Arizona just before I-10 crosses in to California. I think I have read that it has a population of about 3600 permanent residents. In January and February, RVers from across the country descend on this small town, to the tune of about 500,000 RVs - most are boondocking out in the Bureau of Land Management land that surrounds the town.
We are camping with a "Birds of a Feather" (BOF) of Escapees, the Christian BOF. We met David and JoAnne Scott in Livingston in November, just after the bootcamp that we attended there. They told us about the BOF and that their big get-together is at Quartzsite. Since we were already planning to come out to Quartzsite to meet up with other Trek owners in the SWTFC (South West Trek Fun Club), and since the Christian BOF was getting together the week prior to the Trek gathering, we decided to see if our time went well and if we could make it out here for this gathering. It worked out that we did, and we are enjoying our time here.
Dwayne takes really great photos, so I'm including his here:

We drove into town -- some interesting places there...

Hardware, Liquor, and Food Store (I would judge the contents to be in that order - a little over 1/3 of the store was hardware, about 1/3 liquor, and the remainder was food. |

We shoulda stayed here! |

Liz and Roger - a couple that we have met here - we went out for dinner with the and with Jan and Smitty on Sunday evening. |
