AI - no, not Artificial Intelligence on the farm, but Artificial Insemination. Regina took classes a few years ago on using AI to breed cattle and she generally breeds the dairy cows this way.

One of the dairy cows was in heat over the weekend, and it was time to breed her. Regina brought her up in the handling system and chose a "straw" from the freezer and bred her. Regina will know in about 3 weeks (if she doesn't come into heat again) if the breeding "took". Note the hand-to-shoulder glove...
