The folks from Apland's Auto Body (
http://www.aplandsautobody.com/) called on Thursday that the fender was ready and that we should bring Miss Doozie down to get the piece put back on.
The fender was ready for us to pull up alongside the building so they could put it on... |
We opened the compartments in front and behind it, and they could raise the piece above the fender to expose where the rivets would go. |
Maybe a better shot of the part that has hinged up... |
We left for a couple of hours and got a Yumberry Bowl (http://trekincartwrights.blogspot.com/2017/10/enjoying-area-around-hendersons.html) with friends Geoff and Johana - Yum!!!
When we got back to the bus, the fender was on - wow! |
Nate had told us that he would not be able to match the fade in the amount of time that they had to work on it, but I think it looks pretty great! |
The area where it was torn off was right above that tag axle. You can kind of tell a slight difference in the paint if you are looking closely, but we are very pleased with it! |
For comparison - the other side of the bus. The paint imperfections on the driver's side are from the age of the bus... |
We are so pleased with the folks that we dealt with at Apland's! Thank you Jim and Nate!
