On Monday... we went to the Carefree of Colorado warranty service place in the morning...
That's the polycord that was coming out - you may be able to see a small red line about an inch from the roller - Dwayne had made a mark on the roller (you can see the red line on it) and marked how far the polycord had come out, to determine if it was still coming out further - and the red mark showed us that it came out an additional inch. So, we stopped using it and made arrangements to get it checked. |
Awning out at the service place... |
At the other end of the awning - the polycord coming out was allowing the awning to come loose from the roller on the front end. The service place said that it was an error in installation. They fixed it, but not under warranty. We're now talking with the company that installed to see if they will reimburse us for the service charge. |
We decided that we'd like to spend another day or so in the "front range" area of Colorado, so we drove to Boulder County Fairgrounds campground.
On the way, I tried to take another picture of the mountains... a little better than yesterday's! |
When we got to the fairgrounds, another Blue Bird, "Pretty Penny" was also here - so we parked right beside her! You might be able to see that she has solar panels on top too! Pretty Penny is 5 years older than Miss Doozie (1995, 42', pusher/tag). |
On our way to the fairground's campgrounds, I noticed that the Humane Society was nextdoor! And June is "Adopt a Shelter Cat Month"! |
So, we headed over there to take a look at kitties... |
Dwayne liked kittens... this one was very playful! |
He wanted to play with my phone! |
I fell in love with this one... |
George was his name - 7 months old. He was *very* sweet. |
I also fell in love with this puppy - he is 6 months old - SO cute!! |
However, no new kitties or puppies to report residing in Miss Doozie....
Walking back to the campgrounds... we are parked in the "Large Campers" area! |
There are Pretty Penny and Miss Doozie, "nesting" next to each other! |
We went out for dinner with Patti's former co-worker and our friend, Doug - he took us to one of his favorite places in Colorado - Oskar Blues - for yummy bar-b-que! It was great to get to see him - we were sorry to miss out on seeing Dusty and Connor, but appreciated that we got to see and talk with Doug. |
Now the plan is to head out on Colorado Route 14 to start over the Rockies. Plan for Tuesday is to stop at one of the National Forest campgrounds, maybe Dutch George...
As I mentioned on another post, we don't know what kind of service we will have in the National Forest - so if there are no blog posts for a day or two, lack of cellular service is probably the reason!
