Looking back at La Grange

When we rented a motor home back in June to see if we liked traveling this way, we went to La Grange in south central Texas. We liked that area quite a lot, though our plan to stay at a campground near the town so we could walk did not work out so well (it was a longer walk than we anticipated, and it was quite hot!).

One of the neatest things about La Grange was that it had beautiful huge live oak trees - even in the middle of the streets!

Another view of one of the trees in the street (with me in front of it)

One of my favorite parts of small towns is the central square with the courthouse in the middle!
I have always said that I would like to live in a small town with a central square. Several years ago, I taught in Athens, Alabama, and really liked it!

Our experience with the rental rig let us know that we would enjoy RVing and our experience with the long walks to get anywhere from the campground made us know that we needed to plan to have a tow vehicle.
