Some pictures from the Astoria-Megler bridge

We drove into Astoria yesterday to do some shopping. The route took us across the Astoria-Megler bridge, which I'll need to get pictures of at another time. But... they were doing construction on the high part over the shipping channel and narrowed the roadway to a single lane with a flagman, so I took a few pictures while we were stopped.

Ships "upriver" towards the east

A Norwegian Cruise Lines ship at port towards the west from the bridge.

I was trying to get a picture of all the logs on the wharf...

When a tractor trailer came by us with a load of logs...

We have seen so many logs here in Washington (and Oregon) on trucks and in huge piles near shipping areas.

Maybe you can kind of see the piles of logs along behind that blue building with the red roof.
