Eclipse Day!

Have you heard? There is a solar eclipse today! Some interesting things I have heard: only the US will view the totality for this eclipse, and almost all of the continental US will be able to view some portion of the eclipse. The last time there was a total solar eclipse in the continental US was 1979, the last one that passed over the US from west to east was in 1918 (June 8), the last one that was only over the US was in 1776, and the next eclipse that will occur over the US will be in 2024 and it will pass from Mexico to Maine.

Yesterday we went to the rodeo here on the fairgrounds - the animals were somewhat more skilled than the cowboys, but they (the cowboys) are learning. Some pictures from yesterday.
Something is different here! More about the occupants of the retro trailer later.

My ticket to the rodeo!
The announcer was right across the stadium from us.
Before the rodeo started, they introduced the participants...
The barrel racers
The bull riders

The clowns

Between rodeo events, they had Madison MacDonald and some of her trainees on trick riding perform. http://www.magicinmotions.com/shows---stuntwork

Only one of the cowboys had a "legal" ride on the bulls...

My phone indicated that this shot was one second later... he's on the ground...

I think this is the only one who had a full ride.
In the evening, the cousins of one of our Bluebird family had come into town and did an acrobatic performance before dinner. This is the couple who is staying in the retro trailer!

Showing that the guy can be acrobatic and the girl can be the stabilizing force.

Lots of clouds in the sky in the evening, but... so far this morning looks clear for the eclipse!
