One of our favorite places - visited before we started RVing

Before we started RVing, we went to Hawaii about every other year. We always went back to Kaua'i, but through the years we visited each of the other islands at one time or another. Probably our second favorite island was Lana'i, mainly because of the Lanai Cat Sanctuary!

When we first went there, it was called "Lanai Animal Rescue Center" (since re-branded to "Lanai Cat Sanctuary") - but some of the kids on the island did a video that was SO cute:

A couple of more recent glimpses into this wonderful cat place:

Some of our pictures from 2013:
The man who had a rule that he would not date a woman who had cats...

"I think I can jump up into that tree!"

"There's something over there that needs my attention..."

"If we get into her bag, she'll have to take us home with her!"

Kitty magic - oh how the mighty have fallen!

Relaxation!

This kitty was named "Gigi" because it looked like she had black eyeliner around her eyes!

"Well, I couldn't get *into* the bag but she isn't getting away without me!"

Aloof! As I recall, when we were there, about 25% of the cats were feral, they would not come up to humans... but... the rest of them loved to get attention so the center appreciated having folks come out and socialize with the kitties! I think this is one that would keep her distance, but was slowly becoming more socialized.

Once there is something "special" - a cat has to take advantage of it! Ours do the same - if there is something new on the floor or bed - a piece of cardboard, a new rug - they have to try it out for sleeping!
Note: this may be related to the "cat circles" question that has been rolling around on the internet: https://laughingsquid.com/cat-circles-the-amazing-phenomenon-in-which-a-cat-will-always-sit-inside-a-circle-on-the-floor/
"Alright, children, let's all tune up!"

"What tune did you want us to sing???"
A beautiful place for cat lovers!
