Friday around Welcome Station

Our friends, Jan and Smitty, were to leave on Friday morning, planning to drive all the way to Colorado City, AZ, where Jan will be volunteering at the Dream Center to fill in as a cook until they get a permanent one.
Smitty expertly getting their rig out of the site...

... and heading on out. They would be hooking their Jeep behind the 5th wheel when they stopped at the truck stop to check road conditions heading south. The road that was closed last night was said to be open this morning... we heard from Jan on the way and they were able to take US 93 and safely arrived at the Dream Center by 7:30pm.

The smoke had pretty much cleared out!
Nancy and I went into Wells to do some errands, and then, in the afternoon, we headed to a friend's ranch to pick cherries.

The granddaughters of the rancher helped us pick - they were so cute and so helpful!

Izzie is "striking a pose"!

The cherry trees and other trees in the orchard.

One of the bowls of cherries that we picked!
A busy but fun day!
