Tuesday at Welcome Station

Tuesday had us enjoying Welcome Station...
Jan had a plan to recover chair seats today, so I helped by removing staples from a few of the old seat covers...

...while Jan proceeded with covering with the new fabric. Unfortunately, the new fabric is thicker than the previous fabric, so the newly-covered cushion isn't fitting into the chair... but she'll do more work on it tomorrow and I'm sure will be able to get it to work.

Meanwhile, Dwayne worked on a project for Miss Doozie...

When we got the new inverter in March, and mounted its remote control back by the kitchen table, it left a hole in the area in the front where the previous two remote controls were mounted... so he was cutting the piece to fit over this area.
In the afternoon, we decided to walk around the RV Park and see all the beauty here:
A babbling brook is on the west side of the property...

It feeds into a small quiet pond...

And then continues on into the horse pasture behind the RV park.

Looking back from the pond area to the RV sites. You can see that there is a large grassy lawn - so green and nice!

Walking along the stream back up towards the highway...

There are HUGE willow trees on the property.
Looking back through the willow trees to the horses in the pasture beyond.
On the east side of the property, still a lot of grassy area - and horseshoe pits.

A smaller stream on this side of the property.

Nancy has a nice garden (on both sides of the property - this is the one on the east side).

Another view of the creek.

The hill/mountain across the highway.

The building at the entrance had been a gas station when the road immediately in front was a US highway.

Now the facade in front welcomes travelers to the RV park.

Later in the day - as the sun was setting and turning the hill opposite golden.

And even a little later, sunset over the horse pasture.
Google Maps (Link to map) shows the island of green - the blue dot in the picture marks our location.

Zoomed in on the satellite view on Google Maps

So glad to be with friends here!
