Wednesday afternoon to Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary

On Wednesday late morning, some of us from the Coaches for Christ Rally visited the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary.  http://tigercreek.org/
It was getting toward a warm part of the day... so we didn't know how many would be out where we could see them. This black leopard was out, but sleeping... and not in good enough sunshine for us to see his spots.

One of the female lions was also sacked out...

Her enclosure buddy was up and around...

He actually acted like he might be feeling a little bad... so our guide called for someone from animal care to come check on him.
The admission fee allows you to go through at your own pace or to go on a guided tour. We elected the guided tour and would highly recommend it!

One of the tigers...

Our guide said that lions are more like "cat" and tigers more like "dogs" - in that the lions tend to do what they want to do, and the tigers are easier to train. But, she said that all of them are trained to do some tasks - like stretch up onto a platform, or to turn on all sides - so they can check their health. This sanctuary is a non-contact sanctuary, so they don't physically touch the animals.

Padma and Skanda, two Bengal tigers...

I only know their names because I remembered to take a picture of their signs!

There's Luna!

She is a rare white lion - will be turning 1 year old in the next week!

And then there was the "office cat"...
We enjoyed our tour!
