Regina's dairy cows

Regina milks her Jersey cows twice a day - and then uses the milk for multiple projects - she makes butter, makes the raw milk available to folks who want/need raw milk, keeps colostrum (in the freezer) in case there are any orphaned calves that may need it, and makes milk soap - not to mention using the cream when creaming mashed potatoes - YUM! Milk that can't or won't be used (too old, not enough time to process it) can be used as a fertilizer!

I took some pictures of Regina's "girls" - Kendra helped me with names, but any mistakes are my own!

Madeline standing, Marcy and Morning Glory lying down, Maxine lying down in the background (in front of Madeline)

Mandy and Melanie's face to the right

That's Kay (Mikayla) in the background - she is the "grandmother" cow now - mother or grandmother to the others in the dairy herd.

Marigold - aren't the markings on her front legs pretty?

Melanie, Marcy, Marigold, Morning Glory (heifer between Marcy and Marigold), and Mandy (behind Marigold)

Kay gets some grain and some medication - it looks like she and Regina are comparing notes!
