Trusting in the sovereignty of God

We were all packed up, had the Jeep attached, and were doing our last safety checks that all the lights were working correctly on the Jeep, when... they weren't... the left turn signal on the Jeep worked OK unless we had the brake on and then it didn't light at all. Not good...

Thankfully we were still at the farm - Dwayne and Patti probably could have EVENTUALLY figured it out, but it would have been a very long frustrating endeavor. Jimmy checked all connections and finally determined the problem was the taillight converter (there was also an issue with the 4-prong end of our connection to the Jeep - the one we used Sugru on a few weeks ago - http://trekincartwrights.blogspot.com/2016/05/an-update-on-sugru.html - so we had to remove the Sugru, but now we get to do it again!!!).

At one point, we thought that there might be a filament out on one of the lights on the Jeep, so this was the view when that was being checked.

Patti's view during most of the debugging as she was inside the rig putting on the brakes, turning on the left or right turn signal, turning on the taillights. This is the image through the rearview camera of the Jeep.
So... what has this got to do with the sovereignty of God? Well, it would be easy (and was common in the past) for us to get frustrated that we were planning to leave by such-and-such a time, and now we're not and how are we going to make the distance we had planned for today, etc., etc.

But instead, we look at it that God knows where He wants us to be each day, and He may have a reason for keeping us on the farm for a few more hours - maybe an accident that we missed, or a special appointment that He wanted us to have. As it turned out, due to our later start, we decided to overnight on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (http://trekincartwrights.blogspot.com/2016/06/chesapeake-bay-bridge-tunnel.html) and we got to meet a really nice fellow there and Dwayne got to talk with him about Jesus, that we may not have met up with if we had left when we originally planned to leave!

I think part of the ability to trust in God's sovereignty could be due to our being retired, and RVing just kind of influences you to take life as it comes. But thanking God for His love for us, His direction of our way each day, committing our day each morning into His hands for direction - wow, what a blessing it is to know that a loving Father is taking care of all those little details!
