| We had to leave the campground, but there was a gate in the fence that gave us access to the public right-of-way to the trail. |

| We eventually got to the river. On our side, it is quite level, and obvious that flooding occurs at times. The bank on the other side is quite steep. |

| Downriver there were some rapids that we could hear, but we didn't walk down there. |

| Where we were, the river appeared to be so still - but if there was anything floating in the water, it moved quite swiftly. |
