Day 5 - Wednesday - with the CFBOF Rally

<edited to correct the title - thought it was already Thursday yesterday!!!>

Today was the graveside service for a friend who had been a member of the Christian Fellowship BOF for a long time. It was in Yuma, so 4 of us decided to drive down to be there for his wife who had been the secretary of the BOF for 10-12 years - she may have held the office for the whole existence of the group!

We left a little before 8am and got there in plenty of time for the service. We were glad to see Barbara and express our love to her.

On our way back, we made a few stops - fuel for the Jeep, some fruits and vegetables at a roadside stand, and then we stopped at "From the Farm" for date shakes.
"From the Farm" has a selection of different items to eat and drink, including serving tea and date shakes (that we partook of). They also had various items from antique to nicknacks to art.

I got a kick out of the signs....

Ruth Ann and Nancy enjoying their date shakes!!

They also had a selection of crosses made out of interesting materials.... here is one out of some sort of chain....
something that looked like barn wood

one that had nails making a cross at the center of the wooden cross

One made out of belt leather
I'm hoping we can stop back by "From the Farm" when we are in Yuma during February. If any friends or family see something they would like for me to get when I go back, let me know!!!

We also stopped at a small chapel that is located out in a field.
Nancy, Ruth Ann, and Bob in front of the small chapel.

Bob at the pulpit (and signing the guest book)

Ruth Ann on one of the 3 pews (there were 3 on each side of the chapel - I guess it could seat 12 as long as no one was very wide...).
We got back to our camping location about 1:15pm, and walked down to the Escapees happy hour that was at a location just about a half mile further down the road (we walked cross-desert). Then back to our location to mix up biscuit mix for the biscuits and gravy that we will share with the "Solos" (a group of single RVers who have their camping location the "other" way down the desert from where the happy hour was but very close to our location). We wrapped up the day by joining the Solos in their area for hot dogs and fixin's.

A long day but quite enjoyable! Tomorrow will be an early start to get biscuits baked for the Solos.
