Checking out brain waves

Dwayne visited his pain management doctor this past week and the physician's assistant that he sees suggested that he have a test on brain function.

It was an interesting test...
The lady who set up the test put this swim-cap type of thing on Dwayne's head - each of those white things were electrodes that needed to have good contact with his head, so she squirted gel in the hole in the middle of each white thing - I sure was glad it was Dwayne getting the test and not me - yuck, what a mess it would make in longer, thicker hair!

He first had to be still with his eyes closed for 5 minutes, and then it ran a test where he needed to click a button whenever a "large" circle appeared on the screen. In addition to the large circle, sometimes a checkerboard or a smaller circle would appear, or a buzzing sound would be made. There wasn't much difference between the "large" and "smaller" circle (I was watching from behind him) and they showed up very quickly.

We won't get the results for a couple of weeks, but the test itself was pretty interesting! Dwayne was stylin' in his neat cap, and his hair didn't look too bad after the gel-treatment!
