Crop switch-over

When I went to Brookshires (grocery) in Whitney last week, they had this sign posted in the produce area:
Head Lettuce, Cauliflower and Broccoil (sic) Shortages
Spring Transition is underway.
This is when the western green leafy lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli etc. growing region moves from the Yuma Arizona area, back to the Salinas Calif. area. The problem this year with the transition is that the weather has played havoc in both areas, especially in Salinas. Yuma finished up early, and the winter rains caused delays in the plantings in the Salinas area which has caused a rather large gap in the spring harvest that should be underway by now, but is not. The industry say (sic) that it could be late April before we see an improvement in harvest.
Lettuce and lettuce based product have been affected the most. As you've seen in the past few nights, and especially last night, we've had severe shortages on Salads and Head Lettuce. We are doing everything we can to procure the product needed, but we are being prorated or cut entirely from our (sic)
We apologize for the shortages and will continue to do everything we can to procure quality product.
Since we have enjoyed seeing the growing things in Yuma so much, I found this interesting pointing to Yuma and Salinas for the issues they are facing with inventory.

I also found it interesting that evidently no one proofreads content that is put out at the store!
