Another day, another way to break the tow bar... :-(

We left Dildo Run Provincial Park after dumping this morning. We elected not to put fresh water on board as the park had signs saying that the water must be boiled before use. We still had 1/4 of a tank, and figured that would be sufficient for the one overnight we would have before arriving at Pistolet Bay Provincial Park on Thursday.
The view out of Miss Doozie's front window while we were dumping this morning!
We had about an 8-9 hour drive so wanted to make it more than half the way today - somewhere up the west coast of Newfoundland. There are a lot of places where the roads are in rough shape, and somewhere along the route today, the cross-bar on the tow bar snapped.
It broke at the edge of the driver's side connection.

The longer side (from the passenger-side connection) had twisted down and obviously drug during some portion of the trip today.

Another view of the broken parts.
Thankfully, the Jeep stayed attached, but we will need to get the bar fixed before we can use it. We are near Port Saunders, arrived at a rest area at about 5pm planning to just overnight in the rest area. We disconnected the Jeep and drove into Port Saunders to see if we could find someone who could cut the flattened piece off and then put a pipe inside to give it strength and weld it. The person we talked to said he could not do it but called a friend of his who promises he can do it at 8am in the morning.

He gave us somewhat imprecise directions to his friend's shop, so we decided we would try to find it this evening. We drove into the next town, Port Au Choix, and were not exactly able to find the shop... but... we saw these signs indicating that a car wash was available (and the Jeep was filthy).
"Car Washing Today"

He did it in his garage...

He did a good job!

We decided to park Miss Doozie in an RV park - we're backed up to Gargamelle Cove - it is really pleasant!

The cove behind us.
