We had a short trip today - just from Sydney, Nova Scotia, to the Marine Atlantic Terminal in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Once we board the ferry, we will let the ferry captain do the rest of the driving today!

There are a number of Blue Birds going on this ferry - the rest of them are school buses. |
|
There are some other folks bringing their own boats along! Hopefully they won't need them during the crossing! |

There's the ferry we will be going on, it is named "Atlantic Vision". According to the information board inside the terminal, the crossing is 14-16 hours - whew! We've bought some motion sickness pills that are supposed to make you sleepy - and we have booked a cabin to spend the night in - we are not allowed to stay in the motorhome - that would have been our preference! The kitties will be staying in the motorhome; they have a double serving of kitty food for the night and morning. |
We are to board about 4pm Atlantic time (1 hour ahead of Eastern time, about 30 minutes from now), and the ferry is due to depart at 5:30pm Atlantic time. It is due to arrive at 10am Newfoundland time (1.5 hours ahead of Eastern time). We won't have network access onboard the ferry - hope to have network access after we get there to let you see what we saw on the crossing!
