We've arrived in Newfoundland

We took the North Sydney - Argentia ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland arriving about 10am this morning.
Miss Doozie's "cuzzins" (Bluebird school buses) lined up to go onto the ferry in North Sydney.

Going into the ferry - Dwayne was driving the Jeep behind me and said that the boat shifted when it felt the weight of Miss Doozie, but I think (hope!) he was kidding!

We're packing in pretty tight - the guy directing me on watched carefully to ensure that I didn't scrape mirrors with the school buses which were already parked in the next lane. Miss Doozie got to ride right with her "cuzzins". Dwayne and the Jeep were parked on the other side of the ferry.

The cats had to stay in the rig - Tabitha seems to be fine with that plan (she often sleeps on top of the box that we have right outside the privy - or inside the privy!).

Miss Kitty was hiding under the driver's seat, her normal location when we're moving. She didn't come out before I left the rig - I guess we hadn't been stopped long enough. But when I got back to the rig on Monday morning, she was settled in on the bed as is her normal resting place.
From North Sydney, the ferry captain had to back out and turn around - it was looking like it would storm over North Sydney, NS.

Another ferry (probably one that would go to Port-Aux-Basques) was at the dock.

And yet another one was coming in. These other two ferries were not as large as the one we were on.
We enjoyed the buffet for supper and breakfast while on the ferry. We had a 4-berth cabin - just because that was all we could book at the time we booked.

Land ho! About 15 hours after we left Nova Scotia we saw the first islands out our cabin window.
The harbor is up Placentia Bay a little ways - you can see a tower that is there.

When we got to this docking location, the ferry captain had to turn the ferry around and carefully back in.

Still a ways to back in and get closer to the right side.

Wow - he is getting in close - the folks on the dock are waiting for the tie cable to come.

They have the first cable and are tying it off.

My honey is taking a video of the docking.
Second tie-off cable is being carried by the dockhands - we headed down to our vehicles to be ready to exit.
After about a 2 hour drive from the ferry port, we got to Pippy Park Travel Trailer Park - definitely designed for "travel trailers" but they have done a good job making the sites work for bigger rigs. The roads are a wee bit tight... We all (humans and kitties) took naps in the afternoon and the humans hope to start touring tomorrow.

A cute bunny seems to have found some almost irresistable sustenance at the next campsite. He stays there eating even as vehicles drive by or as we walked by.
We will be here for 5 nights, and the internet and phone signal on our Verizon phones is great! We have already experienced some of the legendary welcoming by "Newfies" - two of the guys who are parked near us have come over to greet us and tell us all the things we have to be sure to see. We might need a few months to see it all!
