Arizona Marketplace

We headed out to go to the Arizona Marketplace today - we had told one of the other couples staying here at Cactus Blossom about it yesterday, so that reminded us that we would like to go today!

We started out by going to the Post Office to pick up another package that arrived - this one to General Delivery at the closest Yuma Post Office. It was probably kind of funny because it came by FedEx to the Post Office... the delivery confirmation indicated that they couldn't confirm that I got it, but they got it to the address indicated. This was another Zulily order - they have such long delivery times that I wasn't sure when the package would come so thought if it came earlier than I expected (before we got to Yuma) it could stay at the Post Office until we came into town.

Arizona Marketplace is kind of like the big tent in Quartzsite, with lots and lots of vendors and a lot that cater to RVers. I was just reading their website and realized that they are only open Thursday-Sunday - glad we didn't try going yesterday or earlier in the week! http://arizonamkt.com/index.php

I didn't take pictures of the marketplace, but I did take pictures of a couple of things we had been looking for so I would know what they had and the price:
We have been thinking that we should add some 12 volt receptacles in the bus. There are several items (such as our cell phones) that can be charged or powered by 12V. Our cell phones have a voltage adapter that steps the 110V down to 5.3V. When we are boondocking and we charge them with the 110V system, we are losing a lot of energy in double conversions (from the 12V batteries of the bus through the inverter to 110V and then by the voltage adapter down to 5.3V). If we had a 12V receptacle tied to the 12V batteries, we could use the round "cigarette lighter" type voltage adapter that would step the voltage down from 12V to 5.3V, and maybe would not need the inverters on at all overnight.
On my (Patti's) side of the bed, there is a modular telephone jack that is not being used - I was thinking that if we can get to 12V power behind that plate, it would be a handy place to have a 12V receptacle.

These are smaller options - maybe could go above the bed...

This is what we bought - a double...
Out of the package - we're thinking we might try to mount this above the bed for charging our cell phones. We'll need to use a car-adapter, but think that might be more energy efficient when boon-docking.
We happened to meet up with our Cactus Blossom neighbors while we were there - they were enjoying it too!
