From my church family...

A friend from church posted this on her Facebook yesterday - such a beautiful family!

------------------------------
This morning we were encouraged to have an attitude of gratitude not just on Thanksgiving, but every day. I wanted to publicly express my thanks to our families, Church family, and many many friends for your continued support and prayers for our little family these past several years. ❤️

Earlier this month NBC5 DFW contacted us about featuring Conner on their Courageous Kids series. It aired during the 6pm news this past Wednesday and will re-air during the news after tonight‘s football game (link to video below as well). They did a great job creating the piece, but I wanted to share something that wasn’t included due to time... If you are in a difficult situation, surround yourself with a community of people who you can lean on and trust. Don’t isolate yourself.
If you know someone that is in a difficult situation, then come alongside them and live life with them. Don’t wait for them to ask you for help, just help in ways you can. We are so thankful for those who have helped and supported us in various ways, but we know that’s not the norm for many special needs families.

Our family motto these last several years is to “embrace the chaos and choose joy” and its on our mantel to remind us daily.

We can wallow in our circumstances, we can let the labels (or the lack of a label 😉) define our limitations... OR we can choose joy... choose to see the blessings in the midst of our circumstances, choose happiness. Is it easy? No. Do we forget? Yes, but we can look back and remember the blessings to help us move forward.

Here are the links to Conner’s UDN page if you want to share and the video from NBC5 in case you aren’t able to catch it on TV.
