Thanksgiving Food Donation

On Saturday, Irving Bible Church had 250-300 bags of "Thanksgiving Dinner" fixings for Crisis Ministries to pick up. We met at the church at about 4pm and started loading pickups and SUVs:

Even passenger cars carried bags

We finished loading in about a half an hour... then drove to Crisis Ministries...
We unloaded the bags into the break room at Crisis Ministries

We kept on hearing, "That's all of them," and then another cart load would come in...

The majority of the unloading crew
After about 1/2 hour to unload too...
Then the sorting started... these are labeled bins for the various items we expecting to receive

This was what remained of the bags after about 2 hours of sorting. We all decided we were tired and the rest would need to be finished on another day...

Boxes of instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams... these are more "Thanksgiving specialty items" - not usually held in the ministry's inventory...

Some of the boxes with sorted items - these will be counted and placed into inventory.

A few additional bags that will need to be sorted into the boxes "later"...
It is good to help out! I am REALLY sore though!
