Grand Coulee Dam

I mentioned that we drove in to Quincy on Saturday. While there, we talked with a local fellow who highly recommended a visit to Grand Coulee Dam. I started looking into it, and put the town of Coulee Dam into my WeatherBug to see if the temperatures would be moderate enough that we could do without air conditioning if we drove through there on our way to our next campground (it looked to be pretty warm, so hookups would be preferred).

Either as a result of having put it into WeatherBug, or maybe because where we are happens to be in the same county as Coulee Dam, I got a notice on my phone: https://www.google.org/publicalerts/alert?aid=e61263ace976118e&hl=en&gl=US&source=web

We are pretty far south in the county, and Coulee Dam is at the upper northern part.
It is nice to have notifications that push out to us since we don't often listen to news. If there was an issue here, the campground folks would notify us, but if we happened to be boondocking, it is nice that our phones would help to notify us. And... we're going to skip going to Grand Coulee Dam, at least at this time!
