Nesting

Crescent Bar Thousand Trails is not a huge campground...
... just over 100 sites.
The yellow sites are 50A, and given how hot it was when we got here (over 100F), we wanted to get a 50A site so we could run more than one air conditioner at a time. The ranger had indicated that additional sites, 44, 46, 49, and 51 had been converted to 50A, and that she thought 51 was a nice site and might be available. As it turned out, 51 and 63 were both available, but each were very close to the dumpsters... not ideal. In addition, site 51 had its utility pole on the wrong side (one of the workers here indicated that we might want to pull into the site rather than backing into it - which would mean that our door/public side would be right next to the neighbor's space). Site 71 was empty, but had a tag on the post indicating it was occupied until 8/13 (Monday). It isn't impossible that a site can be occupied by a unit that leaves during the day (a class B or pickup truck camper), but usually they leave something at the site, and there was nothing on the site. We asked at the ranger station, and the ranger contacted the person who had been on the site and verified that they had checked out... so we were blessed to be able to get into a 50A site that has a great view of the river.
Site 71 is a great site for us!
So, we've been "nesting" at Crescent Bar. We are scheduled to be here until Tuesday.
