Flying with Family

On Saturday, John Keith took Dwayne and me up in his airplane. He wanted to take Dwayne flying as Dwayne had first taken a young Keith up with him many years ago, birthing the interest in flying and desire to get his pilot's license.

Getting the plane (a Mooney 210) ready for flight

Verifying ready to go before take-off

Dwayne's view of the cockpit

Another view from the co-pilot's seat

It was a beautiful day for flying!

We flew up past Wright-Patterson Air Force Base....

... zooming in my picture I could pick out the Air Force Museum buildings that we had visited on Friday.

Just out the other side of the plane there was farmland

Dwayne took the controls for a little while!

He is checking out the instruments in front of Keith

A view from over his right shoulder!

Keith took some pictures while Dwayne had the controls...

Looks like he is concentrating hard!

I'm enjoying the ride in the back seat!

After passing by Wright-Patterson, Keith had routed us south...

Across the Ohio River - Cincinnati is somewhere up there to the west...

This was probably over Kentucky...

We stopped at the Clermont airport - can you see the runway ahead?

There's the runway!

Sporty's, a pilot supply store, is located at this airport (https://www.sportys.com/).

Dwayne flew some more on our way back toward Dayton!

As he was setting up for landing, Keith flew us over their neighborhood (and I could see the Jeep there waiting for us! - not really visible in the picture...)

Keith and Dwayne backed the Mooney into the hangar.

It was so nice to get to share this trip with Dwayne and Keith!!!
