Pictures

Here are some pictures from the last few days:
I have been making crocheted caps ("chemo caps") to donate to hospitals for use by those who have lost their hair. This one I made a little smaller and asked Dwayne to try it on .... he first did this (above)...

Then he did this... hmmm... maybe someone with a small head will need a cap!
Some of the friends we've met here:
Kay and Dave - fellow "Texans", well, at least in registration! Kay lived much of her life in the Spokane area so this was the "home" park for her and her previous husband before he passed away. God then brought Kay and Dave together at the Thousand Trails in Palm Desert, California. They are heading east from here.

Bob and Kate - from Phoenix area. They were originally parked next to us but decided to move to a better spot (allowing Kay and Dave to take the spot next to us!). They left today heading west to Monroe, WA. They are going to be going to several of the campgrounds we hope to eventually get to... so we're looking forward to getting reports from them!

Yesterday, after joining our home church in Irving via Live Stream, we went over to the Family Lodge for breakfast. Since the choices weren't exactly on our diet plan, we decided to take the walk around the lake to work off some calories.
The sign that was near the start of the hike indicated that it was 3/4 of a mile.

It started out a quite nice path.

We saw some fruits along the way that we think might be wild huckleberries. There have been a number of "huckleberry" options - syrup, candies, etc. as we've been in this area.

Are they huckleberries? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huckleberry

A view of the lake as we were about 1/3 of the way around.

The path got a bit narrower and climbed over some rocks - this was probably about 1/2 way around -way over on the other side of the lake was the beach and a couple of tents set up there for picnics this weekend.

The path got a bit less distinct in places - if we had started out going the opposite way, I probably would have decided to turn back sooner as I was wearing sandals and some of the path was pretty tough with those shoes!

Eventually we got back to the beach area where there was a dock/swimming platform and fountain.
The internet speed has improved today, probably as folks have left the area so the cell towers are not quite as overloaded.

The smoke has not cleared any though...
A view down the meadow behind us.

Across from us - see that red thing near the middle?

That was the setting sun - bright red.

Looking down the road in the campground - so smokey!
