Wenatchee River near Leavenworth

We had decided that if today was a sunny day, we would go back to the Wenatchee River and try to get some good pictures of some of the areas of rapids. It was a sunny day, so we headed back down toward Leavenworth.

We stopped at a couple of places - here we thought the rapids were pretty, but there was an old rusty looking bridge that appeared to carry a pipe across the river which we really didn't want in the pictures...
We decided to walk up-river a little ways to see if we could get beyond the bridge.

To our surprise, the pipe was cut in half and a trail went across it!

We figured if we could get down into that area, we'd be beyond the shadow of the bridge and able to get pictures without the road or the bridge or other humans in the shots.

To show the cross-section of the pipe.
We did not hike any further on the trail, but it seems that it goes a mile or so and then returns: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/old-pipeline-bed-trail

This was the shot with my phone's camera

This is one of the shots Dwayne got with his camera!

My sweetie, the photographer

Another shot of the bridge/pipe. It was funny, when we saw it from downstream, both of us thought that the pipe was whole... I don't know whether it was the distance away or that we were non-observant. Lots of folks came across while we were there, and it looked like a number of folks came there to use the bridge and the river as a background for portraits.

Dwayne was trying different effects and different lenses.
One of our campground neighbors (who is from Fort Worth, TX!) had told us about a fruit market that they had found yesterday, so we headed through Leavenworth to find that market and got some local peaches and corn.

On the way back through town, I stopped to get a picture of the bi-lingual signs - if we ever want to rent a motorhome in Germany, I guess we will look for a Wohnmobile!

We decided to stop at another place at the river... beautiful...

Dwayne was trying additional techniques... this one was without filters...

And another technique... using two neutral density filters back to back in order to "smooth" the appearance of the waves.
