Renting - part 2

In June, we decided to rent a Class C motorhome from CruiseAmerica for a long weekend. We would pick it up on Thursday afternoon and need to return it Monday morning. We started putting things aside that we would want to load into the motorhome as we wanted to get it loaded expeditiously and get on the road.

As soon as we got the rental motorhome to our house, I found out that I did NOT like the rear corner bed configuration!!!  How do you make a bed when all four sides of the bed are in walls and you can only stand at the corner of one side of the foot of the bed? Not to mention that there are overhead cabinets over the bed just wanting to hit you in the head when you're on top of the bed trying to make it! And... the only exit from the bed is the same lower side of the bed -- so only one person can get in-and-out without disturbing the other one! Oh well, we got the bed made, and the other items installed in the motorhome (including the three cats!) and were on our way.

The first night, we had arranged to stay just south of Dallas at Hi-Ho RV Park. We figured we might have a late start and didn't want to have a long drive for this new-to-us vehicle.

At this first RV park, we met many nice people - from the park hosts to the other folks who were camping there. We found out that, at least in Texas, a lot of people in the RV parks are not just vacationing but are living fulltime, either from choice or necessity. Many have left their "bricks and sticks" home and the community associated with it.
