Work work work!

After seeing Glenn and Eileen's rig, there were many things we wanted to do on ours, so we got started on those tasks.  Glenn gave us a short list of "must dos" so we started on those and added a few of our own.
  • Track bar installation (done by Standard Spring and Axle in Dallas) - to improve stability when being passed by large trucks
  • Installed Electrical Management System to protect the coach from bad electrical sources (over or under voltage)
  • Installed an auto-generator-start, so if we are stopped and lose shore power, and the temperature in the unit goes over a pre-set value, it will automatically start the generator to allow the air conditioning to come on (kitty protection)
  • Installed Pro-Fill for the batteries (the water in house batteries needs to be checked and filled once/month)
  • Installed stronger drawer slides on the bigger drawers so they would hold heavier loads and pull out so we could see items all the way in the back of the drawer
  • Reattached front overhead cabinet that had shaken loose in the rough roads of Louisiana
  • Purchased RV-enabled Garmin (larger display, captures information about size of motor home and is supposed to help in ensuring that you don't end up at a low clearance that is too low for our motor home)
  • Purchased a towing-equipped Jeep to tow behind our motor home
  • Added a "power-pack" to our coach to send the "braking" message to the Jeep (http://m-gengineering.com/index.html)
  • Joined various and assorted groups to help us:
    • Good Sam Club - discounts on campgrounds
    • Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) - owners of motor coaches
    • Coach-Net - roadside assistance and tech support for RVs
    • Escapees - caters to fulltime RVers
We also took a trip to a nearby campground to make sure that we had everything that we needed in the rig.
At Destiny RV Park (near Denton)
