Happy Anniversary to Us!

Some scanned in pictures from this date 29 years ago (May 21, 1989):

On May 21, 1989, we got married at Poplar Springs Farm, in New Kent County, VA.

The day before - Patti with niece Ginny, Granny, Dwayne, David

Dwayne's dad, Leo, nephew Ricky, Patti's dad, Clarence

"Rehearsing"
"How many people can you seat on a 70 acre farm?"
"If Jimmy measures it at 6 strides, is it 12 for anyone else?"
cousins & friends -
Kim, Beth, and Sherri Yates, Gretchen Smith,
Helen McIntire, Lora Binns
Pearson Binns, Mark Kilduff, Mary, Markie Kilduff,
Wakie Howard, Sissy Kilduff, Pat's uncle - Gene Talley

Pat and her mom, Ollie, ready for the wedding to begin!

"Here comes the bride..." with a very shy flower girl and a very un-shy but not-quite-sure-where-to-go ring bearer

After the ceremony - husband and wife!
Pat's family - Aunt Libby, Mom Ollie, Granny, Dad Clarence, Pat, Dwayne, Jimmy, Regina

Dwayne's family - Dad Leo, Pat, Dwayne, David

Pat's great aunt - Helen McIntire, Granny, Pat's aunt - Anne Hunt
Grace Post, Carrie Dail, Dorothy Cooke

Behind Aunt Helen are her daughter Gretchen Smith and granddaughter Sherry Yates

The beautiful cake made by Regina. See those beautiful flower buds on it? She told me that while she was decorating it, she had put several of the flower buds on, and stepped away to work on something else. When she looked back, a little helper (Ricky) had punched the flower buds into the white frosting with his finger, so she had to do them all over again!

Aunt Helen and Granny (sisters)

"Ricky was put to work, too."
"I trusted Regina and Aunt Libby too!"

"... and I trusted my brother to protect the car."
"They even corrupted Ginny!
(not shy any more!)"

"Jimmy has long enough arms for the task at-hand."
"Ginny and Ricky approve of the final product."

"And the grass seed hits!"
"Advertisement to the world!"

Honeymoon in Hawaii - on Maui - matching shirts from Hilo Hatties

We went on a personally guided tour with a local guide.

My sweetie!

We have been so blessed! I am so thankful to God that He brought us together in His timing. We had no idea at the time that we wed all that He had in store for us - for which I probably should be grateful!
