Moving up the road - literally!

We moved up the road today - to Mayhill, NM, at about 7200' elevation (from about 3400' in Lakewood) - seeking cooler weather, and I think we've found it! It was already quite warm when we left Lakewood at 8:30am, but here it is just in the low 80s, there is a nice breeze blowing, and we're parked amongst pine trees at Cool Pines RV Park.
On the promotional rate of $50/week for our first week to stay at The Ranch, we pay for electric separately, so I took a picture of the meter to show when we checked out. We used 274kW - running at least one air conditioner almost all of the daylight hours. At $.10/kW, electricity cost us $27.40 for the week.

Before leaving, we stopped at the air compressor and added air to the tag axle tires which were a little low based on the weight that we recorded back at the end of March.

I noticed this map of the park in the office - the yellow colored sites are available for sale, the orange colored triangles indicate a "visitor" on a lot, blue triangle for owner, light blue for unoccupied rig on lot, yellow triangle for long term rental. There are narrow diagonal markers - blue indicates concrete pad (they don't put visitor rigs over 24' onto concrete pads), and red indicates 50A.

We drove about 90 miles, through Artesia, and Mayhill, and have arrived at Cool Pines RV Park. They include 15kW/day in the daily rate that we are paying - so I took a picture to remind me of how much was on it when we got here. If we don't run the air conditioners, I don't think that will be any issue... but it will be interesting to see!
As we were climbing, we smelled an coolant smell - the engine wasn't overly hot - we're not sure what might be causing that...  something to ask Jimmy about. After we got parked, Dwayne opened the engine compartment to see if the engine coolant indicated that it needed any... it did not...

but, I noticed a belt in a place that it should not be...

Red arrow marks the belt...
There are supposed to be two belts on that system that currently only has one narrow one...

Dwayne was able to get it out from the location where it had been thrown. We cannot detect any damage to the belt...

Dwayne remembers watching Jimmy put 2 new belts onto this when we were in Virginia. We'll need to get instructions from Jimmy on how to get it back on. Dwayne thinks that we have an extra one in case it would be better to use that instead of re-using the one that was thrown off. We also need counsel from Jimmy on what may have caused it to come off...

Our site at Cool Pines. It is interesting because it is a "pull in" site - we'll have to back out when we leave.

We look out to pine trees and a meadow below.

We're settled in for the week!
Note: Cool Pines has a weekly rate on which you pay for electricity separately, or we paid for a Passport America rate (1/2 price) for 3 nights ($14/night) and then 4 nights at the regular daily rate ($28/night).
