"Maine, I expected better from ya!" and more of Acadia

I (Patti) thought it would be nice and cool in Maine, but this morning...
At 9:01am, 100.6 degrees F outside???? and 82.8F inside? (The thermometer was in the sun - we thought we had put it on the shady side, but evidently morning sun got it! But it is getting up in the 80s in the afternoons...) - "Maine, I expected better from ya!"
We started our driving tour of Acadia National Park yesterday, with a CD that we played in the Jeep's player to guide our way. We stopped at Sieur du Monts yesterday (http://trekincartwrights.blogspot.com/2016/07/moved-to-trenton-maine-and-started-our.html) and picked up from that spot today.

A beaver pond - there were several lodges around the pond, but the one on the left of this picture is the one that "makes" this particular pond. The audio CD said that beavers make dams to create ponds because they are more capable in water than on land.

A lookout - it is just breathtakingly beautiful!

This was at a tidepool area - my (Patti) honey taking pictures. Notice the beautiful pink granite under his feet!

A view down the coast - if you look closely, you may notice a person standing down at the base of that cliff, and there is also one standing on the top - to give you an idea of the height of the cliff face.

There's my honey again!

Another beautiful view - this one is more due east - toward France!

I think this is Eagle Lake. It is from an overlook on our way up Cadillac Mountain.

A view toward the east from top of Cadillac Mountain.
