We will be at the Escapade in Essex Junction, VT until Friday, July 29.
We need to be in Dallas by October 17.
Between those two dates, we want to "go where the weather fits our clothes" - preferably temps no warmer than 90F in the daytime and no lower than 55F at night.
We are also "collecting US states and Canadian provinces". We know that we want to visit friends and former co-workers of Patti's in the Toronto area (Pickering and Mississauga are at least two of the locations there that we want to stop). But we're looking for ideas and recommendations...
Currently, we are thinking that we will go into Canada after the Escapade and head east to begin with, but ultimately end up in the Toronto area - maybe more toward the end of September.
Option 1: Maritime provinces

Option 2: add Newfoundland and Labrador and do all the Atlantic provinces

To repeat - regardless, we're still planning, Lord willing, to go to Toronto!!!
We met a really nice couple from New Brunswick here in Salisbury, MA who recommended lots of things to do in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Quebec. You'll see places that they recommended on the maps.
If we do option 2, we'd still plan to do all the option 1 places, but add the ferry trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, and visit there (but we don't have recommendations for places there!). Option 2 would allow us to "collect" Newfoundland and Labrador - which, if we didn't do it now, would be a long trip to come back and do later...
We've looked at an itinerary that Adventure Caravans has for Newfoundland - here is a sample of the places they go:

They take the ferry into Argentia, NL (near St John's), which I don't think we would want to do - the ferry is more expensive and takes a longer time and we are not allowed to be in the bus (with the kitties) during the crossing (whether the longer one or the shorter one).
Does anyone have recommendations for things that we must see in Newfoundland and Labrador?
Or any additional places for the Maritime provinces?
